Clinton and Annandale

The Hunterdon County Arboretum holds a collection of distinctive trees, shrubs, native and exotic plants and spans over 72 acres. Also serving as Hunterdon County’s extensive park system, an additional 32 acres features a mixed hardwood community, which is home for a wide variety of birds and wildlife. House and garden plants are also displayed in the Edmund Laport Greenhouse. Visitors can also enjoy beautiful landscapes through nature trails networking throughout the forest plantation. The Vincent Abraitys Wetlands Study Area is perfect for observing life forms ranging from insects and aquatic plants to amphibians and reptiles. Cross-country skiing is also popular here in the winter.

The Hunterdon Museum of Art has served as an invaluable cultural resource for over 50 years, providing access to the visual arts for visitors from the central and northwestern regions of New Jersey and beyond. Founded in 1952 by a group of local artists and businessmen, the museum has since flourished with the mission of providing education and participation in the arts for the entire community. In recent years, the Hunterdon Museum of Art has evolved into northwestern New Jersey’s most important showcase of contemporary art and has bolstered its reputation for exhibits that are both high quality and original. The Museum also offers a plethora of fine educational programs.
